Who Makes Champion Generators?

After a lot of research, I could find no outside companies involved with the production of Champion Power Equipment. So it looks like, for the most part, Champion Power Equipment makes its own products.

However, Champion does rely on overseas production for the engines that are used to power its generators. It is unclear whether Champion owns its overseas facilities or if it works through another company abroad.

While I could find no evidence of any other companies being involved with Champion’s production, it’s always best to err on the side of caution.

So, Champion Power Equipment seem to be in charge of its own production with the exemption of its engines which are made overseas.

If you want to take a look at more locally-made generators, then we have written an article all about American made generators that you may find useful.

Where are Champion Generators Made?

As mentioned above, not all of Champion Power Equipment’s manufacturing takes place within the US. The company does have a large presence in America. Its headquarters is located in California. It also has facilities in Jackson, Tennessee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Toronto, Canada.

As for the company’s Chinese production, I couldn’t find that much information aside from several third-party articles. However, according to Panjiva, Champion Power Equipment is tied to at least one address in China as you can see in the image below.

So while much of the company’s manufacturing takes place within the US and Canada, its engines would appear to be manufactured in China.

History of Champion Generators

Champion Power Equipment was founded in 2003 in Santa Fe Springs, California. For the first few years, the company focused its attention on developing and manufacturing portable generators for things like RVs, camping, and home backup power sources.

The company picked up a reputation for producing affordable yet reliable generators. This reputation really helped to increase the company’s visibility and it began selling more products to people all over the US.

Today, Champion has lots of generator models to choose from. It has generators with wireless monitoring, remote start capabilities, and much more. While it is still considered to be a relatively young company when compared to a lot of other generator companies out there, it has cemented itself as one of the top generator producers in the US.
