Between work life and family life, it can be hard to find the time to go to the gym. That’s why more and more people are opting to purchase a treadmill. But are there any companies that still produce treadmills in the USA? Well, I’ve done lots of research to find out.
Just before diving into the article, some readers may notice that some companies are missing from the list below. To qualify for this list a company must manufacture treadmills that are geared toward home use. There are a couple of American treadmill manufacturers that exclusively produce products for professional gym use and therefore do not qualify for this list.
Are There Any Treadmills Made in the USA? (The Short Answer)
After lots of research, I found 2 companies that offer treadmills made in the USA. They are Tuff Tread and True Fitness.
Brands Producing American Made Treadmills (I Found These)
Now that we know which companies manufacture treadmills in the USA let’s look at each one in a little more detail.
Tuff Tread
Tuff Tread was founded in 1997 and since its inception, it has been manufacturing its treadmills in the USA. It is a proud American manufacturer, across almost every one of its web pages it clearly states that it manufactures its treadmills in the USA.
The company is located in Conroe, Texas, it looks like this is where it manufactures its treadmills. Tuff Tread manufactures and sells treadmills all over the world. It sells its products to large gym chains as well as individual customers, so everyone can experience what it’s like running on a Tuff Tread treadmill.
On top of selling a wide range of high-quality treadmills, Tuff Tread also offers custom-made treadmills. This means that you can get a treadmill that’s built to fit the space you have. From 9 feet all the way up to 25 feet, the company has treadmills to suit all needs and preferences.

True Fitness
True Fitness is a proud American company that has been manufacturing high-quality exercise machines since it was founded back in 1981. After plenty of research, I found that the company has a facility in St. Louis, Missouri. I wasn’t able to find any other facilities that True Fitness has so it looks like it does conduct the majority of its manufacturing within the US.
True Fitness offers equipment for gyms and for home use. From elliptical machines to rowing machines and of course, treadmills, the company has quite a lot to offer. According to the company website, True Fitness’ main priority is to offer nothing but the best quality service and best products. Since the company is thriving, I’d say they have a point!

Honorable Mention
I came across one company that may manufacture some of its treadmills in the USA. However, I could not find sufficient proof of this so it gets an honorable mention.
Horizon
Horizon was founded in 1999. It is a Wisconsin-based company that produces high-quality stationary bicycles, elliptical trainers, and treadmills. I saw a few articles that listed this company as an American manufacturer. However, I wasn’t able to find concrete proof of this hence it received an honorable mention.
After lots of digging, the only concrete things that I was able to find are that it has a global marketing facility in Wisconsin and a corporate headquarters in Taiwan. While this isn’t really a lot of information, I couldn’t find any other facilities connected to this company, so I’d say that its manufacturing is carried out between the US and Taiwan.

A Company That People Mistake as Being an American Manufacturer
I came across one company that was featured on several third-party sites as an American manufacturer. After lots of digging, it turns out that this is not the case. But just to be clear, this misinformation is not coming from the company itself but from third–party sources. The company is actually very open regarding where its products are made. Here’s what I found.
Spirit
Spirit is a very large treadmill manufacturer based in Jonesboro, Arkansas. While it is an American founded company, it doesn’t actually manufacture its treadmills in the USA. Spirit produces its treadmills in Taiwan. This information is readily available so I am unsure as to where the confusion is coming from.
