Millions of Americans start the day with a nice cup of coffee. With coffee being such a popular beverage, the coffee apparatus market has become flooded with products from companies all over the world. But are there any companies that manufacture coffee grinders in the USA? Well, that’s what I’ll be looking at in this article.
There are some other companies out there that produce coffee-related products in the USA. However, companies like Best Bunn do not make it onto the list as they don’t offer coffee grinders as stand-alone products. They only offer grinders as a part of a coffee maker. Having said that, if there are any readers out there who know of any other companies that belong on this list then leave a comment below.
Are There Any Brands Selling American Made Coffee Grinders? (The Short Answer)
After several hours of thorough research, I was only able to find 1 company that reliably manufactures coffee grinders in the USA. That company is Red Rooster Trading.
Coffee Grinders Made in the USA (What My Research Turned Up)
Now that we have our American coffee grinder manufacturer let’s take a look at it in more detail.
Red Rooster Trading
Red Rooster Trading was established back in 2010 making it a fairly new coffee company when compared to other companies of a similar size. Initially, the company started by producing its Camano Coffee Mill in Taiwan. But its aim was to produce its products in the US. By 2013 the company began moving its production to the US and today it conducts most if not all of its manufacturing within the US.
Its products are made from mason jar bases with hand-crank mechanics. So, not only are they American-made coffee grinders, but they are also aesthetically pleasing. There are lots of other companies out there that only offer big and bulky coffee grinders that take up a lot of space. Well, thanks to Red Rooster Trading you can now grind your coffee beans in style!
As for its manufacturing location, Red Rooster Trading manufactures its coffee grinders at a facility in Missouri. Its products are all handmade using salvaged metal and wood. This makes it a great choice for those who love American-made products and care about being environmentally friendly.
The company offers two coffee grinder products. The first is its Camano Coffee Mill. Its other coffee grinder product is part of a set. It is the Red Rooster Trading’s Home Brew Kit. The company also offers a handful of other coffee grinder-related products, although they are not grinders, they are accessories to go with a coffee grinder. Here’s a link.
Coffee Grinders That Are Commonly Mistaken as Being Made in The USA
While there don’t seem to be a lot of American-made coffee grinders out there, there are a couple of companies that get mistaken as being American manufacturers. Here’s what I found.
Cuisinart is a very well-known company that produces a wide array of kitchen appliances, this includes coffee grinders. It sells its appliances to people all over the world. As I was doing the research for this article, I encountered several third-party sites that had Cuisinart’s coffee grinders listed as being American-made. However, this is simply not the case.
Cuisinart is very open regarding its manufacturing locations. The company primarily manufactures its products in facilities located in China. The company does have an American headquarters. It is based in Connecticut and from what I understand, it looks like this is where some of the confusion regarding its manufacturing may be coming from.
After doing a little more digging, I came across a Cuisinart coffee grinder listed for sale on Target. On the listing, a product expert confirmed that its electric coffee grinder is in fact, made in China.
Mr. Coffee is a well-known coffee appliance manufacturer. Its headquarters is located in Cleveland, Ohio. It looks like some people are mistaking its headquarters as a manufacturing location.
After taking a deeper dive into the company’s operations, it looks like the majority of its manufacturing is conducted in China. I found numerous Amazon listings stating that Mr. Coffee’s coffee grinders are made in China. Also, I couldn’t find a single credible source that stated Mr. Coffee conducts its manufacturing in the US.
The handful of third-party articles that I found stating that Mr. Coffee is an American manufacturer didn’t seem to have any proof to back up their claims. So it looks like the company manufactures its products primarily in China.
