We all use toothpaste. It is one of those hygiene products that we all need on a daily basis. While there are lots of toothpaste brands out there, do any manufacture toothpaste in the USA? Well, that’s what I’ll be looking at in this article.
Which Brands Offer Toothpaste Made in the USA? (The Short Answer)
After an extensive search, I managed to find a fair few companies that offer American made toothpaste. They are Crest, Colgate, Tom’s of Maine, David’s Natural Toothpaste, RiseWell, Radius Toothpaste, and Dental Herb.
USA Made Toothpaste Options (I Trawled the Web And Found These Options)
Now that we know which companies offer toothpaste made in the USA, let’s take a look at each one in more detail.
Crest
Crest is a large oral care company that’s been going strong since it was founded back in 1954. Not only are Crest’s products popular with customers in countries all over the world, but it is the number 1 toothpaste and whitening brand in the USA.
Unfortunately, not all of Crest’s toothpaste is manufactured in the US. The company operates a manufacturing facility in Guanajuato, Mexico. However, only a few of Crests’ product lines are produced at its Mexican facility.
Most of the company’s production takes place at its main manufacturing facility in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Fortunately, Crest’s toothpaste has a ‘made in’ label on the box so it is easy to tell which facility your toothpaste was made in. Just keep in mind that it is easier to physically visit your local store and read the packaging yourself to ensure that the toothpaste you buy is American made.
Colgate
Colgate is one of the largest toothpaste companies on earth. It was founded in 1806 In New York making it one of the oldest toothpaste companies that is still in operation today. With it being an enormous company, it won’t come as much of a surprise to learn that it manufactures its products in facilities in multiple countries.
From what I understand, Colgate has facilities in Poland, Mexico, and the US. Most of its manufacturing takes place within the US. This is especially true if you live in the US as it looks like most Polish-made toothpaste is sold in Europe.
That said, some of Colgate’s Mexican made toothpaste does also make its way to American store shelves, so it’s important to read the packaging to make sure that the toothpaste you want is American made.
Colgate’s main manufacturing facility is located in Burlington, New Jersey. Here the company manufactures the majority of its dental hygiene-related products.
Here’s a link to Colgate’s toothpaste product page. However, just like with the previous entry, I’d recommend going to a store in person to read the packaging as some are made in the US and others are made in Mexico.
Tom’s of Maine
Tom’s of Maine was founded in Maine in 1970. It is an American personal care brand. While it isn’t as big as the two companies above (because it doesn’t have much of a presence outside the US,) it has become a popular toothpaste brand with people across the US.
Tom’s of Maine is a company that believes in giving back to the community. The company donates 10% of its profits to non-profit organizations that help the environment, offer disaster relief, and more. If you want to learn more about Tom’s of Maine’s charity work, check this out.
According to the company’s website, all of its toothpaste products are made at its facility in Sanford, Maine. It does also state that it works with a few smaller manufacturers outside of Maine. It doesn’t state where the smaller manufacturers are, but it does clearly state that all of its toothpaste is made in Maine.

David’s Natural Toothpaste
David’s Natural Toothpaste was founded in 2015. While it is a fairly new company when compared to some of the other companies on this list, it has already cemented itself as a quality manufacturer.
The company’s toothpaste is made in the USA using mostly American sourced materials and components. David’s Natural Toothpaste’s manufacturing facility is in Los Angeles, and this is where the company makes its toothpaste. Once they are made, they are shipped to Menifee, California in bulk to be packaged and sold to customers.

RiseWell
RiseWell was founded in 2016. It is a dental hygiene company that uses a mineral called hydroxyapatite in its toothpaste. It is the same mineral that makes up most of our enamel. It is, according to the company, a great and natural way to have healthy teeth.
According to RiseWell’s FAQ page, it operates 3 facilities within the US, this is where its products are made. That is with the exception of its Teflon Free Floss which is made in Italy. But as for its toothpaste lines, they are all produced within the US.

Radius Toothpaste
Radius Toothpaste is a women-owned company that, as its name suggests, focuses on producing toothpaste. The company is very conscious about its carbon footprint which is just one of the reasons why it manufactures its products in the USA.
All of Radius Toothpaste’s products are American made using sustainable business practices. The company is located in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. It is here that its production takes place. Radius Toothpaste is proud of its American manufacturing and has no intention of changing where it makes its products.

Dental Herb
Dental Herb has been manufacturing oral care products since it was founded in 1996. The company mixes science with nature to produce a range of dental care products that are popular among regular consumers and dentists alike.
Dental Herb’s toothpaste is all made at the company’s state-of-the-art facility in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Its toothpaste is made using natural ingredients making them kind to your mouth yet tough on bacteria.

Honorable Mention
I came across a company that does produce some of its toothpaste products in the US. However, I couldn’t find enough information about how much of its manufacturing takes place in the US, so it gets an honorable mention. Here’s what I found.
Arm and Hammer
Arm and Hammer is a popular brand that is most well-known for its baking soda related cleaning and oral-care products. Arm and Hammer’s products are made by Church & Dwight in facilities dotted around the world.
Arm and Hammer is a popular toothpaste brand in the UK. Because of this, the company operates a large facility in Kent, England, to manufacture some of its toothpaste products.
The company also manufactures products in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, and possibly other countries too. Because of this, I couldn’t find out which specific products are made where hence it getting an honorable mention.
