Rice cookers are very popular kitchen appliances. In 2019 alone, roughly 4.47 million rice cookers were sold in the US. So, it’s safe to say that rice cookers are very sought-after products. In this article, I’ll be looking at Korean rice cooker brands.
Which Brands Offer Rice Cookers Made in Korea? (The Short Answer)
I was able to find 2 rice cooker companies that make their products in Korea. They are Cuckoo and Cuchen.

So, now that we know which brands produce rice cookers in Korea, let’s take a look at each company in a little more detail.
Cuckoo
Cuckoo was founded in 1987 in Yangsan, South Korea. It is a company that specializes in manufacturing high-quality cooking appliances and air purifiers. Over the years Cuckoo has expanded its company to several other countries. This includes the US, China, India, and Japan.
Cuckoo is the number 1 rice cooker brand in South Korea and it aims to become the number 1 rice cooker brand in other countries too. As the Cuckoo brand keeps growing, it opens up new manufacturing facilities to keep up with demand, and this can make it tricky when it comes to finding out which products are made in South Korea and which products are made abroad.
After doing some digging, it turns out that a lot of Cuckoo’s rice cookers are designed in South Korea and then manufactured in China. However, I was able to find a few of the company’s rice cookers that are still being manufactured in South Korea.

Cuchen
Cuchen is a South Korean-based pressure and rice cooker company. The company was founded in 1976 and it has quickly grown to become a fairly well-known brand in Korea and several other countries. Its products are being sold in more than 30 countries worldwide.
The company has won a plethora of awards over the years for its high-quality products. This includes a Brand of the Year Award, a Korean Standard Quality Excellence Index Award, and many more. Here’s a link to all of the company’s awards for those who are interested.
As for its manufacturing, from what I could find, most of the company’s manufacturing takes place in South Korea. However, some of the manufacturing seems to take place in China, but I wasn’t able to find out which of its products are made in China. So double-check with the seller before making a purchase just to ensure that it’s a South Korean product.
