Lots of people own printers. The ability to print things off on demand is a very useful tool in the modern person’s toolbelt. But with so many companies opting to conduct manufacturing in countries like China, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find companies that offer American-made goods. In this article, I’ll be finding out if any companies manufacture printers in the USA.
Do Any Brands Produce American Made Printers? (The Short Answer)
After lots of research, I couldn’t find a single company that reliably manufactures regular printers in the USA. I did find a couple of 3D printer manufacturers in the US. I also found a company that people mistake as being an American manufacturer.
American Made Printers (What I Found)
As mentioned above, I couldn’t find a single company that reliably makes regular printers in the US. I did, however, find a couple of 3D printer manufacturers in the US.
MatterHackers
MatterHackers is a company that is on the cutting edge of 3D printing. In fact, it is the largest 3D printing and digital manufacturer retailer in the whole of the US. While I wasn’t able to find out where all of its products are made, it does manufacture some of its printers in the US.
The company has a page dedicated to its American-made 3D printers on its website. Although, most of them are geared toward industrial use. Here’s a link for those who are interested.
MakerGear
MakerGear is another American-based 3D printer manufacturer. The company is based in Beachwood, Ohio. This is where it manufactures all of its 3D printers.
The company offers 3D printers for a wide range of sectors. It also manufactures custom printers too. Here’s a link to the company’s product page for those wanting to take a look for themselves.
Printers that Are Commonly Mistaken as Being Made in the USA
There is a company that people seem to confuse as being an American manufacturer. Here’s what I found.
HP
HP is a juggernaut in the electronic industry. The company is known for laptops, computers, cameras, and printers. With it being such an enormous company, it won’t really come as much of a surprise to learn that it manufactures its products in several different countries.
I came across a couple of sales listings online that had ‘Made in America’ in their product description. It’s worth pointing out that these were third-party listings and they do not come from the company directly.
HP manufactures its printers in China, Malaysia, and Thailand. I am unsure where the people who posted the sales posts got their information from, but I could find no indication of the company manufacturing any printers in the USA.
