Pressure washers made in America aren’t as rare as you might think. In fact, there are quite a few companies that produce pressure washers in America. In this article, I will be looking into those companies.

Some readers may notice that some brands are missing from the list below. I came across a handful of companies that labelled their products as made in America. However, I was unable to confirm with absolute certainty that this was the case so I kept them off this list just to be safe.

Which Brands Offer Pressure Washers Made in the USA? (The Short Answer)

After doing some research, I found 6 brands that offer pressure washers made in the USA. They are Simpson, Campbell Hausfeld, Briggs and Stratton, Alkota, Power Eagle and Power America.

A List of American Made Pressure Washers (6 Brands)

Now that we know which brands produce American made pressure washers, let’s look at each company in a little more detail.

Simpson

Simpson was founded in 1961, and this company often gets confused with another company named Simpson. And no, I’m not talking about the cartoon! There is a Simpson appliance company based in Australia.

Simpson manufactures all of its pressure washers in a 228,000-square-foot facility located in Decatur Arkansas. Simpson is a part of the FNA GROUP and from what I could find, it is the FNA GROUP that manufactures Simpson’s pressure washers.

Simpson produces both gas and electric pressure washers. Here are some of its products for those who wanted to have a look:

Campbell Hausfeld

Founded in Harrison, Ohio in 1863, Campbell Hausfeld started manufacturing farm equipment. Then in 1940 it changed direction and started focusing its attention on air compressors and spray guns. It is also one of the oldest companies in the whole of Ohio.

Campbell produces pressure washers for industrial use, commercial use, and of course, consumer use. All of its manufacturing takes place in two buildings located in Leitchfield, Kentucky.

Campbell Hausfeld has a good range of high-quality pressure washers. Here are some of the company’s consumer models:

Briggs and Stratton

Briggs and Stratton was founded in 1908 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is a company that primarily manufactures lawn mowers and grass trimmers. However, it also manufactures several pressure washer models, hence why it made this list.

Briggs and Stratton has multiple manufacturing facilities in North America, one in China, one in Australia, and one in Brazil. Although, 85% of its manufacturing takes place in America, and from what I could gather, all of its pressure washers are made in America.

Over the years, Briggs and Stratton has picked up numerous awards for its high-quality, long-lasting products. This includes a BizTimes I.Q. Award, a BIG Innovation Award, and more.

As for the products. Briggs and Stratton has a nice range of pressure washer models. Here are a few of them:

Alkota

Alkota dates back to 1964 when it was founded in Alcester, South Dakota. Alkota is one of the smallest companies on this list, but despite its small size it still produces a wide range of consumer pressure washers.

Something that sets Alkota apart from competitors is that on top of selling American made pressure washers, the company also gives customers the ability to have a custom-built pressure washer that will suit their specific needs.

Alkota is an American-born brand that has remained in America throughout its history. This includes sourcing parts, designing the equipment, and manufacturing pressure washers. All of Alkota’s pressure washers are made at its facility in Alcester.

Power Eagle

Founded in 1973 by Jim and Maureen Devine, Power Eagle started out as a mobile pressure washing company that offered its services to people in the greater Boston Area. Nowadays the company focuses on designing and manufacturing American made pressure washers.

All of Power Eagle’s products are made in America, although I was unable to pinpoint the exact location.

As for Power Eagle’s products, its pressure washers are aimed at those with larger properties. They are built to tackle large areas. For those looking for more information then here is a link to the company’s product page.

Power America

Power America was founded in 1972 in Littleton, Massachusetts. It has stayed in the same location since the very beginning, and it exclusively produces American made cleaning products, including pressure washers.

This company prides itself in being a purely American business that provides high-quality cleaning systems for customers located all over the US. Something that sets Power America apart from a lot of other companies is the fact that it also takes in products that need to be repaired or serviced.

Power America has several lines of pressure washers. Here is a link to the company product page for those who want to see what Power America has to offer.

Honorable Mention

There was one other company that was originally placed on the list above, but a helpful reader pointed out that the company in question may not manufacture its pressure washers in the US. Here’s what I found.

Generac

Generac was founded in 1959. It first made its name by manufacturing affordable high-quality home backup generators. These days, Generac designs and manufactures a multitude of different power tool products, including a few lines of pressure washers.

The company operates five facilities in the US. However, it does also seem to conduct some of its manufacturing in China. A kind reader pointed out that there are Amazon listings of Generac’s pressure washers that have China as the country of origin.

Usually, when writing these articles, I try to avoid putting Amazon listings as proof of a manufacturing location since almost anyone can list something on Amazon and put any information they desire in the product description.

So I decided to reach out to Generac directly for more information. The company could neither confirm nor deny whether or not its pressure washers are American made or whether they are built in China. Here’s a link to Generac’s pressure washer page, just keep in mind that the products may not be American made.

Amendment

Since this article went live, we received a message from a kind reader who gave us an insight into their experience with Generac. The individual who reached out to us stated that they had purchased a Generac 2300W pressure washer and on the packaging, it had a label that stated ‘Assembled in China’.

    • Hi there. Thank you for your comment. We usually try to refrain from using Amazon listings as proof of manufacturing location since whoever lists a product can put in any country they like as country of origin.

However, your comment got me thinking about Generac’s manufacturing. So I contacted the company directly. Unfortunately, they could neither confirm nor deny whether they manufacture their pressure washers in the USA. So, I’ll be changing that entry with the new information I have received.

Thanks again for your comment. Comments like this really help our website to grow.
