Canadian Made Office Chairs? Check Out These Brands

Now that we know which brands manufacture office chairs in Canada, let’s look at each one in a little more detail.

ADI

ADI was founded in 1987. It is an office chair specialist, meaning that the company focuses solely on producing high-quality work chairs to suit people’s individual needs.

The company website says, “We believe that no single chair can be adapted to fit any body type.” The company produces 25 families of chairs. This includes lounge chairs, cafeteria chairs, and office chairs.

All of ADI’s chairs come with a 5-year warranty on all parts and the company has a dedicated customer service team that is highly trained in solving any issues or queries that a customer may have.

ADI’s manufacturing takes place at its 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility located in St-Hubert, QC. ADI has a partnership with fellow Canadian company Bouty INC, these two companies work in tandem to increase efficiency and productivity.

ADI is a company that is dedicated to being as eco-friendly as possible. 96% of the weight content of its chairs is recyclable and the company doesn’t use any toxic or harmful solvents during manufacturing. It also works hard to control all emissions to keep its carbon footprint as low as possible.

ADI produces a wide range of office chairs, this includes the following:

Bestar

Bestar was founded in 1948 in Sainte-Martine de Courcelles. The company started by producing assembled fine craft furniture before expanding and producing a wide range of furniture, this includes an office chair.

From what I could find, the company manufactures one type of office chair, here’s a link to it for those who are interested.

As for manufacturing, I was able to find two locations that the company uses. One is in Sherbrooke, QC, and the other is in Lac-Megantic, QC. The former is the company’s HQ and the latter seems to be its manufacturing facility.

Bestar has been using eco-friendly packaging since 2010 which has eliminated the company’s need for polystyrene. As a whole, Bestar goes above and beyond to work as sustainably and green as possible.

Standard Systems

Standard Systems is a Canadian founded seating distribution company. There isn’t as much information out there when compared to some of the other entries on this list, but here’s what I managed to find.

Standard Systems produces multiple lines of chairs, including office chairs. The company ships products all over the world from its facility in New Westminster, B.C, Canada.

Environmental protection is something that Standard Systems values dearly. Its packaging materials, fiberglass bases, and most of its seat fillings are made using 100% recyclable materials.

As mentioned, Standard Systems produce several lines of office chairs. This includes the following options:

Allseating

Allseating was founded in 1982, and as the name suggests, it is a company that specializes in seating. It is a Canadian founded company and it still operated in Canada to this day.

The company has a 150,000-square-foot facility located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Allseating also has two offices, one in Chicago and another in New York. But from what I could find, most, if not all, manufacturing takes place at its facility in Canada.

Allseating produces a large range of office chairs to suit all needs and preferences. Here are some of Allseating’s office chairs for those who want to take a closer look:

Liv-Instyle

Unfortunately, at the time of writing this article, parts of the Instyle website were down for maintenance so I was unable to gather all the information I would usually collect. But, here is what I found.

Liv-Instyle is a Canadian furniture brand that produces household furniture. However, the company does produce one type of office chair, hence why it’s on this list. The office chair that Liv-Instyle produce is called the Wellington Office Chair.

The company’s manufacturing facility can be found at Marquis Drive, Saskatoon, Canada. All of Liv-Instyle’s products are designed and manufactured in Canada.

ergoCentric

Finishing off this list we have ErgoCentric. ErgoCentric has been producing high-quality seating options since 1990. ErgoCentric produces just about everything you can think of to do with sitting. From stools and sit stands to guest chairs and of course, office chairs.

ErgoCentric specializes in producing ergonomic chairs that help to improve various things like body posture and comfort. These chairs are specifically designed for people who spend lots of time sitting at desks. According to ergoCentric’s website, 94% of ergonomists approve of its products and its seating can even boost employee productivity.

ErgoCentric produces an impressive 14 lines of office chairs. Instead of listing out each one, here is a link to the company’s office chair range.

As for production, all of ergoCentric’s products are manufactured at its facility in Chedworth Way, Mississauga, Canada. So, you know that any product you buy from ergoCentric is 100% Canadian made.
