Miter saws are a crucial piece of equipment for workers across a variety of different sectors. These days, lots of companies are moving overseas when it comes to their manufacturing. This is because it reduces costs. Over the past few years, there has been an ever-growing number of people who are opting to do their utmost to buy locally. Because of this, I’ll be looking for miter saws made in the USA.
Do Any Companies Sell American Made Miter Saws? (The Short Answer)
After an extensive search, I couldn’t find a single company that reliably manufactures miter saws in the USA. However, I did find a couple of companies that manufacture miter saw blades in the USA. Here’s what I found.
Miter Saws Made in the USA (Here’s What My Research Turned Up)
Here’s a look at the companies that produce miter saw blades in the USA.
York Saw
York Saw Is one of the oldest active industrial blade manufacturers in the USA having been founded way back in 1906. Throughout the company’s history, it has been very keen on manufacturing products in the US, and this is a practice that York Saw continues to this day.
As mentioned above, while the company does manufacture miter saw blades in the US, it doesn’t seem to manufacture miter saws themselves. But since it produces the blades in the US, it gets a mention.
York Saw manufactures its saw blades in York, Pennsylvania. Its blades are called LUXITE and they are well known for being quality, reliable blades. For those wanting to take a look at some of York Saws American made miter saw blades, here’s a link.
Forrest Saw Blades
Forrest Saw Blades is a very proud American company. It has been manufacturing quality saw blades and dados since it was founded in 1946. All of Forrest Saw Blades’ products are American made. Being an American manufacturer is something that the company takes very seriously.
The company operates out of a facility in Clifton, New Jersey. It is a family-owned and operated business that produces saw blades for various pieces of machinery, including miter saws. Here’s a link to all of Forrest Saw Blades’ miter saw-related products.
Honorable Mention
I came across one company that may produce some of its miter saws in the USA. However, I couldn’t find definitive proof of this so it gets an honorable mention. Here’s what I found.
Lenox
Lenox is a very well-known company that produces various pieces of machinery across several sectors. It was founded in 1915 by the American Saw and Manufacturing company but has since changed to be known simply as Lenox.
Today, Lenox is owned by Stanley Black & Decker. Stanley Black & Decker is one of the largest tool companies on earth having sold countless tools to people in almost every country.
As mentioned above, its manufacturing locations weren’t 100% clear. According to multiple posts on The Garage Journal, some customers have received products from Lenox that have ‘Made in China’ written on them. Also, a handful of Lenox’s Amazon listings are labeled as made in China.
So, we know for definite that some of Lenox’s manufacturing is carried out in China. As for its US manufacturing, according to the company’s LinkedIn profile, it designs, tests, and manufactures products in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Unfortunately, it doesn’t go into much detail regarding which of its products are American made.
That’s where my trail ran cold. So, while it does manufacture some products in the US, it isn’t clear which of its products are American made. If anyone has any more information regarding Lenox and its manufacturing locations then get in touch via the comment section below.
Miter Saws that Are Mistaken as Being Made in the USA
As I was doing the research for this article, I came across a website claiming that loads of companies manufacture their miter saws in the USA. I went through the entire website, and each company mentioned as an American manufacturer actually produces their products overseas.
Before getting into the list, it’s important to note that the information isn’t coming from the companies themselves but from this third-party website. Here’s a list of all of the companies’ miter saws that the third-party site claimed are American manufacturers but aren’t.
- Hitachi – Some models are made in China and others in Japan.
- Grizzly Pro – They seem to be made in China.
- Craftsman – It does manufacture some of its tools in the US but its miter saws seem to be made in Taiwan.
- DeWalt – It does manufacture some products in the US. But it looks like its miter saws are made in China and Taiwan.
- WEN – Made in China
