According to the website Lazboy.GCS, La-Z-Boy is owned by a handful of shareholders. Its top shareholder is a company under the name BlackRock Institutional Trust Company, N.A. with a 15.09% share.

But, as is the case with most shareholders, they don’t actually manufacture the company’s products. According to an article on StyleMeetsComfort, La-Z-Boy furniture is manufactured under the La-Z-Boy name. Basically, La-Z-Boy furniture is made by La-Z-Boy.

This information is also backed up by the company’s Wikipedia page. So, La-Z-Boy’s manufacturing is carried out by the company itself.

As featured in the image above, much of La-Z-Boy’s manufacturing is carried out within North America. According to La-Z-Boy’s official website, it operates a total of 6 manufacturing plants and 10 distribution centers.

As you can see in the image above, La-Z-Boy’s manufacturing facilities are located in both the US and Mexico. According to La-Z-Boy’s Illinois Facebook page, it has been proudly manufacturing its furniture in the USA since 1927.

So, it does look like a lot of La-Z-Boy’s manufacturing is carried out in the US. However, it does also make use of its Mexican based facilities for some of its production.

The La-Z-Boy company was founded in 1927 in Monroe, Detroit. La-Z-Boy was actually the first company to design and manufacture reclining chairs. While it is a fairly simple idea, it was seen as a revolutionary invention.

The La-Z-Boy recliner rocker wasn’t introduced until 1961. Prior to that, while the company did manufacture a variety of reclining chairs, its rocker became its most sought-after product throughout the 60s.

In 1983, La-Z-Boy began manufacturing stationary sofas and chairs and it also began to expand to offer products in places like New Zealand and Australia.

For almost a century, La-Z-Boy has remained in the spotlight. Its products have been featured in countless films and TV shows, which has helped to cement the company as a quality furniture manufacturer.

With it being such a well-known and popular company, it won’t come as much of a surprise to learn that it has won a plethora of awards for its furniture products over the years. In 2013, the company received the RMHC Outstanding Stewardship Award. It has also been voted as Calgary’s gold-winning furniture store for 8 years in a row.
