Vinyl flooring is the perfect choice for those wanting flooring that looks nice, is pretty waterproof, and is easy to clean and maintain. But with so many companies turning to overseas manufacturing it is becoming increasingly difficult to find vinyl flooring made outside of China. In this article, I’ll be looking at vinyl flooring made in the USA.

Do Any Companies Produce Vinyl Flooring Made in the USA? (The Short Answer)

After doing lots of digging, I found a handful of companies that offer American made vinyl flooring. They are Armstrong Flooring, Mohawk Flooring, Happy Feet International, Shaw, Mannington, and Continental.

American Made Vinyl Flooring (What My Research Turned Up)

Now that we know which companies manufacture vinyl flooring in the USA, let’s take a look at each one in a little more detail.

Armstrong Flooring

Armstrong Flooring was founded in 2016, but the company itself dates back to 1908, when it operated under a different name. It is now owned by AHF Products. AHF Products is an enormous company that owns several flooring companies. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this article, not all of Armstrong Flooring’s products are made in the US. It looks like the company does have at least one facility in China.

That said, it looks like the vast majority of its manufacturing is carried out across its 5 manufacturing facilities dotted around the US. According to its about us page, the company has been primarily manufacturing its flooring in the US for over 100 years.

Mohawk Flooring

Mohawk Flooring is an American flooring company based in Calhoun, Georgia. The company has been in the floor manufacturing business since it was founded back in 1878 making it a well-established and well-respected company.

I wasn’t able to find out where all of its vinyl flooring options are manufactured, but I did find that one of its vinyl flooring lines is made in the USA. That is the SolidTech Plus. It does state on its website that it assembles all of its carpet flooring in the US, but I could find no mention of it doing the same with the rest of its vinyl flooring options.

Here’s a link to Mohawk Flooring’s online store. I’d recommend reaching out to the company before making a purchase to ensure that the vinyl flooring you are looking for is one that was made in the USA.

Happy Feet International

Happy Feet International was founded back in 2012 by Casey Johnson and his son CJ Johnson. The company started by producing small quantities of singular product lines, but now, it offers more than 23 different product lines. Happy Feet International has over 29 million square feet of luxury vinyl material so there’s more than enough for everyone!

As for its manufacturing, the company doesn’t share all that much information. I assume that with it being called Happy Feet International it would make sense that the company conducts some of its manufacturing overseas.

That said, it does manufacture some of its vinyl flooring in the US. At the time of writing this article, it has a couple of American-made vinyl flooring options. This includes its newest line, Liberty Bound.

As for the rest of its manufacturing, I’d recommend reaching out and asking the company directly to ensure that the flooring you are interested in was made in the USA. Here’s a link to its product page.

Shaw

Shaw is a well-known flooring company that is made up of more than 20,000 employees making it one of the biggest entries on this list. The company is based in Dalton, Georgia and its flooring is manufactured by Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

As far as manufacturing goes, with it being such a large company not all of Shaw’s production is carried out in the US. For the most part, Shaw carries out its production at its American facilities. However, it does seem to also do some manufacturing in China and Scotland.

From what I was able to find, it looks like the majority of the company’s vinyl flooring is produced at its state-of-the-art facility in Ringgold, Georgia. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Shaw has much information regarding where each of its vinyl flooring options is made.

So, I’d recommend reaching out and asking prior to making a purchase to ensure that the flooring you have your eye on was produced in the USA. Here’s a link to its vinyl flooring page, and here’s a link to the company’s contact information.

Mannington

Mannington was founded in New Jersey in 1915. While it looks like the company doesn’t manufacture all of its flooring in the US, it does manufacture most if not all of its vinyl flooring in America.

The company’s vinyl flooring seems to be manufactured at its facility in Salem, New Jersey. Its vinyl flooring is easy to clean, waterproof, and kid and pet friendly, and it is Floorscore certified. This makes Mannington the perfect all-rounder when it comes to American-made vinyl flooring.

Continental

The Continental flooring company was founded in 1979 by James G.F Coleman. It is a pretty large business that manufactures a wide array of flooring options. This includes vinyl flooring. From what I understand, Continental’s vinyl flooring is primarily manufactured in the USA.

Its vinyl flooring is manufactured at its company facility located in Calhoun, Georgia. According to the company’s website, not only does it manufacture its vinyl flooring in the US, but it also takes great care to be as green as possible.
