Do Any Companies Sell Rain Barrels Made in the USA? (The Short Answer)
After an extensive search for American rain barrel manufacturers, I found 3 companies that produce them. They are The Great American Rain Barrel Company, Rain Barrel USA, and Tijeras Rain Barrels.
American Made Rain Barrels (What I Found)
Now that we know which brands produce rain barrels in the USA, let’s look at each one in more detail.
The Great American Rain Barrel Company
The Great American Rain Barrel Company is a proud American company that has been going strong for over 3 decades. Technically speaking, this company isn’t an American manufacturer, it’s an American recycling company.
The company manufactures its products from old shipping barrels that bring in food from Mediterranean countries. Once the barrels are no longer useful to major shipping companies, they are sent to The Great American Rain Barrel Company where they are repurposed into rain barrels. All of its production is carried out at its facility in Hyde Park, Massachusetts.
The reason why the company makes it onto this list is that it creates local jobs for everyday Americans, it is environmentally friendly, and all of the company’s production is carried out on American soil.

Rain Barrel USA
Rain Barrel USA was founded in 2002. As you have probably guessed from its name, it specializes in manufacturing rain barrels! Its products are pretty well known across the US, they are even being sold on Wayfair.
According to its homepage, Rain Barrel USA manufactures all of its products in the USA. Specifically, it operated a manufacturing facility in Waxhaw, North Carolina. I couldn’t find a single source connecting the company to anything outside the US. So, I feel it’s safe to say that 100% of its rain barrels are American-made.
At the time of writing this article, Rain Barrel USA offers two product lines. They are as follows.
Tijeras Rain Barrels
Tijeras Rain Barrels is a rain barrel manufacturer based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It has been in the rain barrel business for over 19 years and is now the number 1 rain barrel manufacturer in the entire southwest.
It is a true American manufacturer. It looks like all of its rain barrels are produced at its manufacturing facility in New Mexico. For a closer look at the company and the people behind it, check this out.
Since Albuquerque doesn’t get much rainfall at all, the company knows the importance of preserving as much water as possible. That’s why it offers rain barrels that are mosquito-resistant, incredibly sturdy, and easy to maintain.

Honorable Mention
I came across one company that may manufacture rain barrels in the USA. However, at the time of writing this article, due to a supply shortage, the company wasn’t able to produce any of its rain barrels. Hopefully, by the time you are reading this, the issue will have been resolved. Also, while its barrels are painted in the USA it wasn’t clear where exactly the barrels themselves are made. Here’s what I found.
Earthlinks Colorado
Earthlinks Colorado is a green gardening company founded in 1996. The company is primarily a charity organization as it helps the local community. It does this by helping vulnerable individuals find self-worth by offering opportunities and programs that help them to help the planet.
