Germany is well known for producing high-quality tools and machinery. Some of the most popular DIY companies were founded in Germany. But, with so many companies moving production to China to increase productivity, it can be difficult finding tools and machines that weren’t made in China. In this article, I’ll be looking at drill presses made in Germany.
Before diving into the article, some readers may feel like a few companies are missing from the list below. I did encounter several brands that used to manufacture drill presses in Germany. However, most of the companies I found have since closed down or moved away.

Firms That Sell Drill Presses Made In Germany? (The Short Answer)
After doing some digging for German made drill presses, I came across 2 brands that produce them. They are Arnz Flott and Maxion.

Let’s take a look at the companies mentioned above in a little more detail.
Arnz Flott
Anrz Flott, better known as Flott is a metalworking business that’s been in operation for more than 165 years. It is a company that specializes in manufacturing machines for threading, grinding, sawing, and drilling.
From what I understand, it looks like the company manufactures at least some of its products at its various facilities dotted around Germany. That said, it is a very large company that has centers and facilities all over the world. So it may conduct some of its production overseas but I couldn’t find concrete proof of this.
Also, there are files that you can download on Flott’s website stating that the company develops, markets, distributes, and assembles lots of its products across several German-based locations. Maxion
Maxion is a proud German company, and from what I understand, it manufactures all of its products in Germany. It manufactures a variety of heavy-duty machines from flow drilling machines all the way down to regular hand tools. The company is located near Jena in the east of Thuringia, Germany. It looks like all of its manufacturing is conducted at this location.
Maxion is a world leader when it comes to designing and producing high-end drilling machinery. At the time of writing this article, the company has been working on a handful of new drilling machines, this includes the BT6 Frequenz. This machine is a very powerful drilling machine that has a drill depth of 55mm and it can drill at speeds of up to 9,000 RPM.
