The smell of homemade waffles sizzling on a waffle iron is the perfect way to start a day. If you want to start the day off with a bang and an amazing breakfast, look no further than a waffle maker to create those perfect weekend waffles. In this article, I’ll be looking at American-made waffle makers.

Do Any Brands Sell Waffle Makers That Are Made in the USA? (The Short Answer)

Upon doing some research, I was able to find 3 companies that manufacture Waffle Makers made in the USA. They are Appalachian Cast Iron Company, Nordic, and C. Palmer Manufacturing.

American-Made Waffle Makers (What’s Out There)

Now that we have our brands, let’s look at each company in more detail.

Appalachian Cast Iron Company

The Appalachian Cast Iron Company is veteran-owned and operated, and located in Johnson City, Tennessee.

The Great American Waffle Iron is made for the patriot, the family that enjoys quality food, the cook, the baker, the traditionalist, the historian, and the storyteller. With its waffle irons, the company pays tribute to the thousands of American foundry workers that helped build our nation. Its Waffle Iron is made in America, by American craftsmen.

Its waffle maker is cast in the US with a combination of both iron ore and recycled metal. It cooks quickly and evenly and can even be used as a sandwich press.

The waffles do not stick to the pan, providing easy release. It also has great results on gas, coil top, and glass top stoves. It claims it is a functional piece of artwork that also makes a great waffle. A link to its cast iron waffle maker is here.

Nordic Ware

It’s been 75 years since the founder, Dave Dalquist, returned from WWII to start Nordic Ware in his basement along with his father, brother, and wife Dotty.

It utilizes US-based contract production for sourcing some components. These contractors are all located within 100 miles of its main campus. However, it does rely on some imported components, with less than 10% of Nordic Ware’s parts being sourced overseas.

We previously reviewed Nordic Ware in another article and found the company is committed to remaining family-owned. It claims American consumers will pay a slight premium for an American-made product versus an import.

Nordic Ware has several different models of waffle makers. Its products are non-stick and made from heavy-duty cast aluminum with beautiful detail and even heating. Most are safe for use on electric, gas, and ceramic stovetops. However, it does mention that some of the materials for its handles are sourced from China.

C. Palmer Manufacturing

C. Palmer Manufacturing was founded by Carmen Palmieri, in 1943, in his basement with no money and a strong desire to work. He decided to make the tools he couldn’t find in the US to cook his favorite foods from Italy. His idea was that his products would bring the family together with cooking traditions. The company is now operated by Darcy Smouse, his granddaughter.

Today, the company is located in West Newton, PA. All of its products are made from high-quality cast aluminum in the USA using domestic and globally sourced components.

Its waffle irons have stainless steel covers, heavy aluminum casting, a preset automatic thermostat, and a three-leg stand that eliminates countertop wobble. A 5-year warranty on imported electrical parts is also offered on its waffle irons.

Waffle Makers that are Commonly Mistaken as Being Made in the USA

I found a couple of companies that people seem to confuse as being American waffle maker manufacturers. Here’s what I found.

All-Clad

All-Clad Metalcrafters was founded in 1971 by John Ulam. All-Clad began and still operates in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, a small borough near its founder’s hometown.

All-Clad chose to keep its location in Pennsylvania because it is the birthplace of the American steel and aluminum industry. The region produces top-quality metal fabrication technology and its metalworkers are among the most skilled in the world.

Its high-end waffle maker features a non-stick cooking surface, adjustable temperature control, and indicator lights. It features 7 adjustable levels of toasting shade, so your waffle is as crispy as you like it.

However, based on our research of this company, it does claim its non-stick cookware collections are manufactured in China. It is also owned by Groupe SEB. Groupe SEB is a French association that produces small home appliances. A link to its Belgian waffle maker can be found here.

Black and Decker, Inc.

Black+Decker Inc. is an American manufacturer of power tools, accessories, hardware, home improvement products, home appliances, and fastening systems headquartered in Towson, Maryland where the company was originally established in 1910.

It looks like its products are mainly manufactured to the company’s specifications outside of the USA.

The only way you can tell where the merchandise has been made is on the packaging box or the instruction manuals.
