Not everyone owns a wood chipper. But those who do, understand how important quality production is when it comes to purchasing wood chippers. With so many companies moving manufacturing overseas, finding products made outside of China is becoming increasingly difficult. In this article, I’ll be looking at American wood chipper manufacturers.
Do Any Companies Sell USA Made Wood Chippers? (The Short Answer)
After an extensive search for American-made wood chippers, I found lots of companies that produce them. Here are a few for you to check out: Bandit Industries, Bear Cat Products, Dosko, Land Pride, MacKissic, Patriot Products, and Dr Chipper.
American Made Wood Chippers (What My Research Turned Up)
Now that we know which companies offer wood chippers made in the USA, let’s look at each one in a little more detail.
Bandit Industries
Bandit Industries is an American-founded company that offers wood chippers that are designed to handle lots of heavy-duty use. The company was founded by Michael Morey in 1983 and since its inception, Bandit Industries has always been focused on manufacturing wood chippers in the USA.
Over the years, the company has expanded and it now employs more than 700 people who work hard to produce some of the best wood chippers on the US market.
According to Bandit Industries’ Linkedin profile, its wood waste and arboriculture machines are made in Michigan and used worldwide. The company has over 180 dealers in 50 different countries worldwide making it a far-reaching and well-known brand.
It offers a wide selection of wood chippers, from hand-fed models to full tree chippers. Since this article is aimed at regular consumers, I’ll be showcasing a few of its hand-fed chippers. Bear Cat Products (Crary Bear Cat Products)
Bear Cat Products sold its first wood chipper back in 1990. Since then, it has grown and expanded and it now manufactures a wide array of chippers and shredders for professional use.
With more than 30 years of experience, Bear Cat Products definitely knows how to produce high-quality wood chippers. As for its manufacturing location, the company is based in Wickenburg, Arizona. However, I found an article from a reliable source stating that it manufactures its products at a facility located in West Fargo, North Dakota.
Also, after taking a look at the company’s official Facebook page, it confirms that its products are designed and built in the USA.

Dosko
Dosko has been producing wood chippers in the USA since 1983. I couldn’t find an official website under the name Dosko, it looks like Dosko sells its products under the GNE (Great Northern Equipment) company name.
While Dosko may also produce other lines of wood chippers, I only found one that clearly states that it’s made in the USA. That is its Dosko Brush Chipper 4 in. Honda GX390. By reading the product details, it clearly states that the product is made in the USA.
I also found an article on Wood Splitter Direct stating that the company operates a facility outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Here’s a link for those wanting to read more about Dosko’s manufacturing location.
Land Pride
Land Pride is a company that offers a wide array of heavy-duty farming machinery. The company was established in 1986. It was founded in the Midwest, and it still operates in the Midwest today.
Land Pride has manufacturing facilities in Abilene, Kipp, and Lucas. These are all places in Kansas. I could find no evidence of the company manufacturing any of its wood chippers overseas. So, it looks like all of Land Pride’s wood chippers are made in the USA.
At the time of writing this article, Land Pride offers two different wood chipper lines. They are as follows.
MacKissic
MacKissic was established in 1947. It began by manufacturing bale hooks and plough trip rope releases for farmers. By 1952, it began offering a wider variety of products, and by the early 70s, the company began producing wood chippers.
It is a proud American company. Across numerous pages on its website, you’ll see phrases like made in the USA and USA-made products. MacKissic is very proud to be an American manufacturer and although it may produce some of its products overseas, its wood chippers are manufactured in the USA.
The company’s wood chipper range is called Mighty Mac. They are all American-made. Here are some links to each of them.
Patriot Products inc
With a name like Patriot Products inc, it will come as no surprise to learn that this is an American-made company that is proud of its roots. It was founded in 1992 with the intention of producing quality locally-made wood chippers and leaf shredders for everyday Americans.
Fast forward to today, and the company offers lots of different lawn maintenance products to thousands of people all over the US. As for its manufacturing facility, the company had a change of ownership in the year 2000 and it moved its production facilities to Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
Patriot Products inc offers two different categories of wood chippers. They are electric wood chippers and gas wood chippers. Here are some links for those wanting to take a look for themselves.
Dr Chipper
Dr Chipper has been manufacturing outdoor power equipment since 1985. In 2003, Perkins Power Equipment became a dealer for the company and is now the oldest independent dealer of Dr Power Equipment (Dr Chipper). OMC Power Equipment is also a dealer for Dr Chipper.
The reason why I am mentioning its dealers is because that’s where I found the information regarding the company’s manufacturing location. According to both sources, Dr Chipper produces its wood chippers at a facility located in Vermont as you can see in the image below.
