Are Any Brands Selling Metal Detectors Made in Japan? (The Short Answer)

After doing lots of digging around, I couldn’t find a single brand that manufactures metal detectors in Japan. However, I did find a company that gets mistaken for being a Japanese manufacturer.

Metal Detectors That Are Commonly Mistaken as Being Japanese Made

There seems to be some confusion around one company, it seems like a case of people mistaking its Japanese dealerships for its manufacturing facility. Here’s what I found.

Nokta

Nokta is a pretty young company having only been established in 2001. But, despite being relatively new, it very quickly grew and expanded and it now sells its metal detectors in more than 100 countries worldwide. It is a proud Turkish company, this is very clear to see as it is plastered all over its website.

I found the Nokta brand featured in a couple of articles under titles such as “Japanese metal detectors.” After doing some digging, the only thing I could find that connects Nokta to Japan are a couple of Japanese dealerships that sell Nokta metal detectors.

It looks like the majority of Nokta’s manufacturing takes place in Istanbul, Turkey. This is where its headquarters is located. But due to the sheer size of the company, it may also have facilities elsewhere, although I couldn’t find much information regarding its manufacturing locations other than its Turkish facility.

As for Nokta’s Japanese dealers, there are two, Adventure X and Imex Trade CO. Just to be clear, these two companies seem to only be dealers and not manufacturers.
