Bench Vises Made in Germany (What My Research Turned Up)
Now that we know which companies manufacture bench vices in Germany, let’s take a closer look at each one in more detail.
For more than 125 years, Brockhaus Heuer has been manufacturing high-quality and reliable bench vises in Germany. Its products have been sold to happy customers all around the world. A Brockhaus Heuer bench vise is designed and built to last a lifetime, making it the only one you’ll ever need to buy.
This is a proud German company, all of its vises are made in Germany at its facility located in Plettenberg. Each of its bench vises is made out of forged steel, also, the company guarantees that its vises are unbreakable, which isn’t a statement that a company would usually make unless they mean it.
Brockhaus Heuer goes into great detail on its website regarding what being a German manufacturer means to the company. Here’s a link for those wanting to check it out.
As for its bench vises, Brockhaus Heuer has three main types of vises, which are as follows.
- Heuer Compact
- Heuer Vise (Size Options For Jaw Width in mm = 100, 120, 140, 160, 180)
- Heuer Vice with Replaceable Jaws (Size Options For Jaw Width in mm = 120, 140, 160)
Ridged was founded in 1923 in Ohio. While it isn’t a German company, it does manufacture at least one of its bench vises in Germany. For the past 100 years, Ridgid has been manufacturing all things tool related. From general-purpose tools and tubing tools to drain cleaning tools and vises.
While I’m not sure where the company makes the majority of its products, I know that at least one of its bench vise lines is made in Germany. I found this thanks to several different sources, this includes a direct answer from a company advisor on one of its bench vise products.
Ridgid’s German-made bench vise is the F Series. Some components of the XF45 and the XF50 are also made in Germany. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find out the exact details for those two models. But the F Series is 100% German-made.
