Midea Dehumidifiers are made by GD Midea Air Conditioning Equipment Ltd. Both of those companies are a part of the Midea Group. The Midea Group is a Chinese company that was founded in Beijiaozhen, Foshan in 1968.

Where are Midea Dehumidifiers Made?
It won’t come as much of a surprise to learn that with it being one of the biggest companies out there when it comes to home appliances, it manufactures its products in facilities dotted all around the world.
Midea operates manufacturing facilities in China, Vietnam, Belarus, Egypt, Argentina, and more. With it having so many manufacturing locations, you’d be forgiven for thinking that it would be difficult to find out where exactly its dehumidifiers are made.
According to numerous sources, including an extract from the company itself, Midea dehumidifiers are made in China. Sorry for all those hoping to buy an American made dehumidifier from Midea. However, we previously wrote an article about companies that manufacture dehumidifiers in the US for those wanting to take a look.
By doing a Google search, you’ll find Midea’s official ‘about us’ description. In this description, it clearly states that its appliances and air conditioners are currently being made in China. Unfortunately, on the company’s actual website, this information does not appear.
Additionally, in 2016, Midea experienced a massive product recall, and because of this, many news outlets reported on the company and its manufacturing location. All of them state the same thing; that Midea dehumidifiers are made in China.
History of Midea Dehumidifiers
The company began by producing electric fans and various electrical components in 1968. As the years went on, Midea quickly grew and expanded its catalog to offer a wider variety of electrical products.
As briefly mentioned above, Midea had an issue that ended up with the company ordering a massive recall on a handful of its dehumidifiers due to the risk of them becoming a serious fire hazard. You can find out more about its recall on Recallertr.
Thankfully, since Midea’s setback in 2016, the company has managed to come back stronger than ever. In 2021, it introduced the world’s first extendable dehumidifier with a lift-and-twist design. This was met with lots of positive feedback which has helped to mend its previously tarnished dehumidifier reputation.
Today, Midea seems to be swinging from strength to strength as it keeps releasing new and advanced dehumidifier models, most of which are smartphone-compatible.
