Good-quality tires are a must for any vehicle. A good set of tires improves grip, stopping time, and vehicle control. But are there any companies that produce American-made tires? Well, that’s what I’ll be looking at in this article.
Do Any Brands Sell Tires Made in the USA? (The Short Answer)
After several hours of research, I could only find one company that manufactures certain tire lines in the US. That is Mickey Thompson Tires. I found a few other companies that do manufacture some tires in the US, but I wasn’t able to find out which lines are American made so they get an honorable mention instead.
American Made Tires (What My Research Turned Up)
Now that we know which company manufactures tires in the USA let’s take a deep dive into the business behind the brand.
Mickey Thompson Tires
Founded in 1963 Mickey Thompson Tires is a proud American company. The company is located in Stow, Ohio. And from what I was able to find, it looks like it conducts the majority of its manufacturing within the US.
The company is most well known for its light American-made truck tires but it manufactures quite an extensive range of tires as I’m sure you can imagine. A few years ago the company expanded its operations and now occupies a facility in Ohio that covers a whopping 200,000 square feet.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to confirm whether or not the company conducts any of its manufacturing overseas. However, its American-made tires are clearly labeled so it is easy to see which of its products are American-made.
Here’s a link to the company’s website where you can check out all of its tires. Just be sure to look for the image above in the product’s description to ensure that the tires you like are American-made. That said, it does manufacture all of its light truck tires within the US.

As you can imagine, over the years Mickey Thompson Tires have picked up numerous awards and accolades for its high-quality products. Most recently it picked up the coveted Best New Product Award for its Baja Legend EXP off-road tires. It has also won many more, here’s a link containing some of the company’s past awards.
Honorable Mentions
I came across a handful of companies that manufacture some tires in the USA. However, it is unclear which of their products are American-made. Here’s what I found.
Mastercraft Tires
The Mastercraft Tires company dates back to 1909. It is a subsidiary of Copper Tire & Rubber and it offers high-quality tires for customers all over North America. As I was researching this company, it turns out that it has manufacturing facilities in a few different countries. This makes it nearly impossible to find out which of its tires are American-made.
The company’s tires are made by Cooper Tire. Cooper Tire operates manufacturing facilities in the US, the UK, Serbia, China, and Vietnam. As mentioned above, this makes it difficult to find out which of its products are American-made.
I’d recommend reaching out to the company directly to enquire which of its tires are American-made. Here’s a link to the company’s tires and here’s another link containing its contact details.
Cooper Tires & Rubber Company
The eagle-eyed among you may notice that this company has already been mentioned in the entry above. Cooper Tires & Rubber Company is a large tire manufacturer that also manufactures Mastercraft Tires’ products.
The company operates manufacturing facilities in a variety of countries. This includes the US, China, Mexico, and more. And just like the entry above, I wasn’t able to find out which specific tires are American-made. Goodyear
Goodyear is one of the largest and most well-known tire manufacturers on the planet. The company is known for producing reliable high quality tires for all possible types of terrain. The folks at Goodyear know how important reliable tires are which is why its team of dedicated engineers works around the clock to produce some of the best tires on the market.
With it being such a large company, I’m sure most people would have guessed that the company doesn’t conduct all of its manufacturing within the US. The company owns and operates manufacturing facilities in multiple countries worldwide. This makes it tricky when finding out which of its tires are American-made.
Goodyear is also the owner of a number of other tire companies, each company owned by Goodyear seems to manufacture their tires at the same facilities as Goodyear so they all fall under the same entry. For more about the company’s history and information, check this out.
