Skiing is a very popular hobby. Whether you do it for fun or competitively, it is a great way to blow off some steam. But when it comes to ski clothing, it seems like very few people know where their items are made. In this article, I’ll be looking at ski jackets made in the USA.
Just a little disclaimer before diving into the article. I came across a couple of companies that may possibly produce ski jackets in the US. But, I couldn’t find definitive proof of this on their websites, only third-party articles. To get an entry in this article, the manufacturing information has to come directly from the company itself.
Companies that Sell Ski Jackets Made in the USA? (The Short Answer)
After doing some digging, I was able to find a couple of companies that manufacture ski jackets in the US. They are NWT3K and Fulsus USA + Free Ride Systems.
American-Made Ski Jackets (The Options I Found)
Let’s take a deeper dive into each American ski jacket manufacturer to learn more about the companies behind the products.
NWT3K
NWT3K, also known as Northwest Tech is a high-quality customizable outdoor wear company. Its aim from the beginning was to produce one-of-a-kind snow jackets that are designed by the customer. This proved to be popular and the company quickly snowballed into what it is today.
Being quite a large company, you’d think that it conducts the majority of its manufacturing outside of the US. However, this isn’t the case. NWT3K products are made in the USA at two facilities located in Seattle.
Its ski jacket options are almost endless. That’s because each jacket is customized by the customer. Here’s a link where you can go and design your very own American-made ski jacket.
Fulsus USA + Free Rides Systems
This entry may seem a little confusing at first. But both of these brands are owned and operated by the same company. So, to make things easier, I’ll talk about Fulsus USA first and then I’ll cover Free Rides Systems.
Fulsus USA has been in business since the early 2010s. It is based in Colorado. As a side note, Fulsus USA was named one of the top 25 manufacturers in Colorado back in 2014, so the company must be doing something right!
As for its manufacturing, according to the company’s about us section, Fulsus USA always does its best to produce its products in the US. However, some of its materials come from abroad. But its outerwear is all made in Colorado and California by local people, so if you are looking to spend money locally, then this is a good option.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing this article, Fulsus USA’s website seemed to be having some issues and I wasn’t able to view any of its products. Hopefully, by the time you are reading this, whatever issues Fulsus USA is having will be solved. Here’s a link to its product page.
Free Ride Systems, as mentioned, is owned by the same company that operates Fulsus USA. Unlike Fulsus USA, its website at the time of writing this article is up and running so I have been able to find a few American-made ski jackets for you to check out.
As for the company’s origin, it looks like it was made at the same time as Fulsus USA and therefore has the same origin story. The same is true for its manufacturing, it looks like the vast majority of its manufacturing is carried out in the US between its Colorado-based facility and its place in California.

Ski Jackets that Are Commonly Mistaken as Being Made in America
I came across a company that I initially thought produced ski jackets in the US. However, upon taking a closer look this turned out not to be the case. Here’s what I found.
Outdoor Research
Outdoor Research was founded by Ron Gregg in the 1980s. These days it is a pretty large company that manufactures everything from ski gear to PPE for hospitals. It is a very large operation.
I initially thought this company manufactures all of its products in the US, but this doesn’t seem to be the case. There are plenty of sites out there that have labeled Outdoor Research as a solely US manufacturer, but this only applies to its PPE. Its ski jackets are made in Indonesia.
The misinformation isn’t coming from the company itself, as a quick look at some of its ski jackets will show you that it is made in Indonesia. The misinformation is coming from all these third-party sites that have either made a mistake or maybe didn’t put in enough research.
