It’s safe to say that almost everyone has at least one screwdriver. A good screwdriver can last a lifetime. Equally, a poor-quality one may only last a couple of years. In this article, I’ll be looking at some of the best American made screwdrivers on the market.
Brands Selling Screwdrivers Made in the USA? (The Short Answer)
I was able to find 11 companies that produce screwdrivers made in the USA. They are Wright Tool, Wilde Tool, Tekton, Starrett, Bondhus, Cementex USA, SK Tools, Chapman MFG, Klein Tools, Commando Products, and Grace USA.
American Made Screwdrivers (A List of Manufacturers)
Now that we know which brands manufacture screwdrivers in the USA, let’s look at each company in more detail.
Wright Tool
Wright Tool was founded in 1927 in Barberton, Ohio. It manufactures a wide array of heavy-duty hand tools, this includes everything from wrenches and ratchets to tool storage sets and screwdrivers.
It is a proud American company and it looks like most of its manufacturing is carried out in the US. It does, however, manufacture some of its tools at a facility in Taiwan. But luckily, the company labels its American-made products very clearly so it is easy to tell which of its screwdrivers are American-made.
The majority of Wright Tool’s screwdrivers are made at its facility in Barberton. As shown in the image above, the company also only uses US steel so not only are its products made in the US but its steel is also sourced from within the US.

Wilde Tool
Wilde Tool is an American-founded company that was started in Kansas City back in the 1920s. After doing some digging, I could only find one location that the company uses and that is its manufacturing facility in Hiawatha, Kansas. Also, according to the company’s FAQ section on its website, all of its tools are made in the US.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find out where the company gets its materials from, so there’s a chance that not all of its materials are sourced from within the US. But putting that to one side, all of Wilde Tool’s manufacturing seems to take place in the US.

Tekton
Tekton is a family-owned hand tool manufacturer based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Not all of Tekton’s manufacturing takes place in the US. In fact, at the time of writing this article, 74% of Tekton’s products are manufactured in Taiwan. However, the company is very transparent when it comes to where its products are made, all of its products have a country of origin section on them.
So, as far as screwdrivers go, here are some of Tekton’s American-made options.

Starrett
Next up we have Starrett, just like the previous entry, not all of this company’s manufacturing is carried out in the US. However, despite conducting some of its manufacturing in China, according to the company’s official website, it conducts quite a lot of its manufacturing in the US. Its American-based facilities are dotted all around the US, here’s a link to the company’s website that shows where each facility is located.
Luckily, Starrett has a section on its website where it showcases its American-made products. That said, I can’t link to any specific products because the list is always changing depending on product availability. But here’s a link to its made in the US section for you to have a look for yourself. At the time of writing this article, it has several American-made screwdriver options.
Bondhus
Bondhus was founded in 1965 when founder John Bondhus started manufacturing his own invention, the now patented Balldriver Ball end hex driver. Over the years, the company has expanded its selection of hand tools and today, it is one of the most successful hand tool manufacturers in the US.
Bondhus tools aren’t just popular in the US, the company sells its products to people in more than 100 countries worldwide. One of the reasons why the company is so popular is thanks to its lifetime warranty. Bondhus offers a lifetime warranty on all of its tools, so if your tool breaks or you just aren’t happy with it, the company will gladly offer you a replacement for free.
As for its manufacturing, Bondhus manufactures its Ball, Hex, and Star Tip Screwdrivers at its facility located in Monticello, Minnesota. Here are a couple of options for you to check out.
Cementex USA
Cementex USA has been in the hand tool business since 1950. It is a proud American company and is located in Burlington, New Jersey. The company manufactures a wide range of tools from pliers and wrenches to screwdrivers and entire tool kits.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find all that much regarding its specific manufacturing locations, however, on the company’s official site, there are multiple made in the USA labels on almost every page. So, I feel like it’s safe to say that a good chunk of its manufacturing takes place in America. Also, each product has a section stating where it was made, and as for its screwdrivers, each one states that it’s made in the USA.
Cementex USA has plenty of options when it comes to American-made screwdrivers. So, instead of linking to a couple of its products below, here’s a link to the company’s screwdriver category page.
SK Tools
SK Tools used to manufacture the majority of its products in China and Taiwan. However, the company now conducts the majority of its manufacturing in the US. From what I understand, this move was down to the company changing hands and the new owner wanting to bring production closer to home for American consumers.
According to the company’s about us webpage, its manufacturing takes place at a new facility in Williamsport Pennsylvania. But I also found a third-party site stating that SK Tools also has facilities in Colorado and Illinois. But as a whole, it looks like a primarily American-based operation.
After taking a closer look at some of SK Tools’ screwdriver sets, I came across a handful of reviews stating that its screwdrivers are indeed American-made. At the time of writing this article, the company has around 70 screwdriver-related products. Here’s a link to its screwdriver product page.
Chapman MFG
Chapman MFG dates back to 1936 when it was founded in a garage in the small town of Durham, Connecticut. Since its inception, Chapman has manufactured its screwdrivers in the US and it doesn’t look like this will change any time soon.
Something that sets Chapman MFG apart from lots of other hand tool companies is the fact that not only are its products made in the US but they are made using American materials too.
Chapman MFG’s entire business is centered around manufacturing precision screwdriver sets in the US. So, it won’t come as a surprise to find out that it has lots of options to choose from when it comes to American-made screwdrivers. Here’s a link to its product page.
Klein Tools
Klein Tools has been manufacturing high-quality tools since 1857. A German immigrant founded it in the US and despite not manufacturing all of its products in the US, it conducts most of its manufacturing at its facilities in America.
As mentioned, not all Klein Tools products are American-made. But luckily for us, Klein Tools is pretty transparent when it comes to letting us know where each of its products is made.
Each of Klein Tools’ American-made products are clearly labeled with a Made in the USA flag underneath the product description. I’ve put an image below so you can see what to look out for. Here’s a link to its screwdriver product page.
Commando Products
Commando Products is a professional tool company that offers high-quality precision screwdrivers and screwdriver sets. Just like some of the other entries on this list, not all of Commando Products’ tools are made in the USA. However, those that are made in America are clearly labeled.
According to the company’s official website, it manufactures the majority of its products at its facility located in Kansas City, Missouri. Unfortunately, Commando Products’ website isn’t very modern and it is a little tricky to find your way around.

Grace USA
Grace USA was founded in 1941. It is a family-owned and operated business and it manufactures all of its products in the USA. The company manufactures a few different types of products, this includes several lines of screwdrivers.
From what I was able to find, Grace USA manufactures the majority if not all of its products in the US. By clicking on one of the company’s screwdriver products, it says “100% Made in The USA.” I clicked on a few different screwdriver products, and each one I clicked on stated the same thing.

Honorable Mentions
I came across two companies that seemingly manufacture some of their screwdrivers in the US. However, I found it difficult to find out which products are American-made and which are made abroad. Here’s what I found.
Stanley Tools
Stanley Tools is an enormous company that operates in many countries worldwide. It was founded in 1943 in New Britain, Connecticut where it quickly grew and expanded until it had facilities dotted all over the world.
As mentioned above, Stanley does manufacture some of its products in the US. But the website wasn’t particularly clear when it came to stating which specific products are American-made. So, while the company may manufacture some of its screwdrivers in the US, I wasn’t able to find out with 100% certainty. DeWalt
DeWalt is a very large power and handtool company that manufactures products that are sold to customers all over the world. With it being such a large company, it has manufacturing facilities in several countries worldwide. This includes facilities in the US, Mexico, Brazil, China, Italy, and more. This makes it tricky when trying to decipher which of its products are American-made.
The company does have a section on its website that showcases some of its American-made products. However, despite numerous third-party sites stating that DeWalt’s screwdrivers are American-made, I couldn’t find concrete proof of this on DeWalt’s official website. So, if there are any readers out there who have more information on this one then leave a comment below.
