In 2021, the estimated global size of the hair dryer market was a whopping 8.19 Billion USD, so it’s safe to say that hair dryers are a pretty standard household appliance. But are there any brands that produce American-made hair dryers? Well, that’s what I’ll be looking at in this article.

Hair Dryers Made in the USA – Do They Exist? (The Short Answer)

After doing some digging, I was able to find one company that manufactures hair dryers in the US. That company is Silence HP.

An American Hair Dryer Brand (That Make Them in the USA)

Now that we have our American hair dryer manufacturer, let’s take a look at it in a little more detail.

Silence HP

Silence HP manufactures a silent hair dryer range in the USA. I couldn’t find out all that much about the company’s history. But from what I found out, its products are built at a facility in Phoenix, Arizona. That being said, some of its parts may come from other countries.

The hair dryer, Silence HP Eco Hair Dryer uses up to ⅔ less energy when compared to a regular turbo dryer. It has two heat settings and an instant cold shot button. It comes with a lifetime motor warranty and lifetime refurbishment is available for a small service fee.

Being built in the US means that it has a much smaller carbon footprint compared to most hair dryer companies out there. Also, as mentioned above, it consumes less energy than a standard hair dryer making it a great all-rounder.

Honorable Mention

I encountered one company that does seem to produce hair dryers in the US, but I couldn’t find out which specific models are made in America. Here’s what I found.

Conair

Conair is an internationally recognized company that produces small electrical appliances. With it being such a large company, it has offices and manufacturing facilities dotted around the world, which made it nearly impossible to find out which of its products are made in the US.

Conair has manufacturing facilities in the US, India, and China. It seems like most of its manufacturing takes place in China, but some of it does take place at its US-based facility.

I came across a couple of articles stating that Conair manufactures the Conair 1875-Watt Ionic Ceramic Hair Dryer in the US. But I was not able to find any credible source that backed this up.

On the Amazon listing for this product, it says that the country of origin for this hair dryer is the US, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that it was made in the US, simply that the company is based in America.

In fact, one reader kindly reached out to us having purchased the exact model pictured below. Once it arrived, it was clearly labeled as being made in China. So, it seems like the model in the image below is a Chinese made hairdryer.

Hair Dryers that Are Commonly Mistaken as Being Made in America

As I was researching companies for this article, I came across lots of websites claiming that a couple of hair dryer companies manufacture products in the USA when in actual fact, they don’t. This false information did not come from the companies themselves, it all seems to be coming from third-party sites and blogs. Here’s what I found.

Revlon

Revlon is a giant in the personal care world. It manufactures products for customers all over the world and it’s built up a reputation for being an affordable and reliable brand. Revlon’s products are mostly manufactured in China. This information comes from the company itself as well as a couple of trustworthy sources.

I found a third-party website that listed some of Revlon’s hair dryers as being American made, this just doesn’t seem to be the case as I could not find any evidence to back this up.

Remington

Remington is another personal care giant. It’s mainly known for its razors but it produces lots of personal care electrical products. Its headquarters is located in Middleton, Wisconsin. This seems to be where some misinformation could be coming from.

This electrical giant has manufacturing facilities all over the world and although it does have some facilities in the US, I couldn’t find any evidence that any of the company’s hair dryers are manufactured in the US.

The only source I came across stating that Remington produces hair dryers in the US was a third-party article that contained seemingly false information about a few different companies. So, that doesn’t seem all that reliable.

  1. I ordered that “Country of Origin: USA” Conair hair dryer you mentioned from Amazon. The box clearly states “Made in China”. I’m returning it, and will be ordering the Silence HP hair dryer direct from the USA manufacturer. Yes, it’s more expensive but it’s worth it to me in this case.
