Flashlights are often an overlooked item. That is until you have a power cut, then they become very important! But, whether it’s a light for emergencies, for work, or for adventures, it’s important that your flashlight is up to the task!

German flashlights tend to be more durable and more reliable than a lot of the cheap flashlights that are manufactured in China and various other mass-production countries. So, with that in mind, here are some of the best flashlights made in Germany.

So, Which Brands Produce German-Made Flashlights?

Upon research, I found out that there are a few German-made flashlight companies out there. These include Acculuc, Heine, Kowalski, Mellert, Brennenstuhl , and Lupine. So, let’s break each one down for a more detailed look.

Flashlights Made in Germany – 6 Different brands

Acculux

Acculux is a world-famous brand, known for developing environmentally friendly lights.

Founded back in 1955, Acculux was the first company to create and release a rechargeable flashlight, making them pioneers in the lighting world and driving other companies to up their game!

Acculux has been granted over 100 patents over its more than 70-year lifespan. This covers everything from basic handheld torches to explosive-proof torches used by firefighters. Needless to say, Acculux know their way around a flashlight!

Acculux manufactures all of their products ranging from small hand torches to emergency lighting from their base in Murrhardt, Germany. Everything is made to be very durable, sustainable, and eco-friendly.

Heine

Heine is a medical company founded in 1946 by Helmut A. Heine. The company is dedicated to building the most reliable and highest quality diagnostic instruments on the market. They build everything from veterinary equipment to medical headlights.

All of their products are manufactured in Germany, specifically at their production facilities in Gilching, Bavaria. Materials that are used to manufacture their products are largely sourced in Germany.

With more than 500 employees, 300 instruments and products, and over 75 years of experience, Heine is a company that is globally recognized for high-quality lighting products.

Kowalski

Kowalski is a German-made brand that has found a market and built up a reputation as a fantastic underwater torch creator. Although their own website is difficult to find outside of Germany, there are certainly a large number of places selling their torches aimed at diving.

Most of their torches have a handle and can be used underwater, however, these torches don’t come cheap. Here is an example of one of their torches, the Kowalski Select 1250, which has a burn time of 4.5 hours. The price of this torch starts at a whopping 529 euros!

Mellert

Mellert SLT GMBH & CO. KG is a manufacturing company that mainly produces light fixtures and equipment but they also make torches. They were founded in 1953 and they are located at Langenmorgen 2 Bretten, 75015 in Germany.

There isn’t much information out there for Mellert, however, it is possible to get your hands on some of their products on Amazon. Such as the Mellert TL 268 MasterLED black LED Stable light. This flashlight is waterproof up to one meter and its battery life is a whopping 150 hours whilst on its brightest setting!

Brennenstuhl

Brennenstuhl was founded back in 1958 by Hugo Brennenstuhl. They manufacture a whole range of household items, plugs, extension leads, timers, and of course, flashlights.

Brennenstuhl has a large warehouse located in Tübingen, Germany. This is also the hometown of the founder – the company tries to stay close to its roots. They also have warehouses located in Austria, France, and China.

This makes it difficult to say for certain which of their flashlights are made in Germany. Their website claims that they are all made in Germany, but other sources state that some of their components and products are made and sourced elsewhere.

Lupine

Lupine is a German-founded company that conducts most of its designing and manufacturing within Germany, making them an excellent choice for those looking for a German-made flashlight.

Whilst most of their products are made locally, they do outsource some of the work to neighboring countries within Europe. But the vast majority of the manufacturing is carried out in Germany.

The company boasts a whole host of flashlight options. From waterproof flashlights to rechargeable ones and everything in between. They have been crafting high-quality flashlights for over 30 years, so it’s safe to say that they know what they are doing!

Rechargeable Torch Lights Made in Germany

As mentioned several times in this article, most of the companies above also design and manufacture rechargeable flashlights in Germany. Instead of making you scroll through each website yourself, I’ve picked out some of the finest rechargeable flashlights that are made in Germany:
