Whether for land surveillance, photography, or creating awesome videos, drones are popular with millions of people worldwide. Germany is a country that’s well known for manufacturing various high-quality electrical goods, but does it manufacture drones? Well, in this article, I’ll be looking for drones made in Germany.
Just a quick note before diving into the article. The drones listed below come from companies that primarily make drones for official use. That said, hardcore drone enthusiasts may still be interested in taking a look.
Do Any Brands Sell German Made Drones? (The Short Answer)
After doing some digging, I found a couple of companies that manufacture drones in Germany. They are Vectorbirds and AiDrones.

Now that we know which companies produce German made drones, let’s take a look at each one in a little more detail.
Vectorbirds
Vectorbirds is a professional drone manufacturer that makes drones primarily for military and professional use. It was founded in Germany in 2019 and despite being a fairly new company, it has already established itself as a high-quality drone manufacturer.
While the company specializes in producing reliable UAV special systems for military and professional use, some of its drones are also compatible with hardcore hobbyists. However, it is worth noting, whilst drones aren’t usually cheap, Vectorbirds’ ones are fairly expensive. This is due to the sheer quality of the drones.
As for its manufacturing, it is a proud German manufacturer. The company’s headquarters is located in Bilshousen, Germany. I couldn’t find out where its specific manufacturing facilities are located, but it looks like most if not all of Vectorbird’s manufacturing is carried out at its facility in Bilshousen.
After taking a look at the company’s about us section on its website, it clearly states that its drones are made in Germany. I also had a wider look online and couldn’t find anything stating that Vectorbirds has facilities outside of Germany. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find out where the company sources its materials from, so while it looks like the manufacturing takes place in Germany, it may source some of its materials from other countries.

AiDrones
AiDrones is another company that produces drones geared toward professional use. It was founded in 2010 and according to its LinkedIn profile, it is a company that develops drones and unmanned surface vehicles for commercial applications.
The company manufactures its products in Germany. From the information I found, it looks like AiDrones manufactures its products at a facility in Wusterhausen. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this article, AiDrones’ website didn’t have much information regarding its manufacturing, so I wasn’t able to find out more about where its products are made.
But I could find no indication that it manufactures any of its drones outside of its German-based facility. Here’s a link to its website for those wanting to check out AiDrones’ products.
A Note For The Readers
Some readers out there may feel like a few companies are missing from the list above. Well, you are right! There are more German drone manufacturers out there. All companies that make drones in Germany only seem to make drones for military/official use.
Although the same is true for the companies listed above, they offer the closest thing to a ‘regular’ drone that people may be interested in buying.
