Air purifiers are great for keeping your home fresh and clear of various pathogens and bacteria. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, air purifiers have seen a sharp increase in popularity. With the increased demand, lots of companies have turned to China for manufacturing purposes. In this article, I’ll be looking for air purifiers made in Japan.
Are There Any Brands That Sell Japanese Made Air Purifiers? (The Short Answer)
After doing some digging, I couldn’t find a single brand that definitely manufactures air purifiers in Japan. However, I found some companies that might produce some air purifiers in Japan.
Air Purifiers Made in Japan (Here’s What I Found)
Here are the two companies that may produce air purifiers in Japan.
Panasonic
Panasonic is a well-known international company that manufactures everything from household items to electronics and more. It was founded in Osaka, Japan in 1918 and it very quickly grew and expanded to become the iconic brand that it is today.
Panasonic is most well known for its electrical products such as TVs, rechargeable batteries, and cameras. The company moved into the air purifier market around 50 years ago and it now manufactures and sells multiple lines of air purifiers to people all over the world.
As for its manufacturing locations, with it being such a large company, it conducts its manufacturing in multiple countries around the world. At the time of writing this article, Panasonic’s air purifiers are made in China, Thailand, and possibly in Japan.
While it does look like Panasonic manufactures some of its air purifiers at its facility in Japan, I couldn’t find out which models are made there. So, if you are looking for a Japanese air purifier, then I’d recommend reaching out to the company to ensure that you get a model that was made in Japan. Iris Ohyama
Iris Ohyama was founded in 1971. It is a Japanese company and its headquarters is located in Sendai, Miyagi, Japan. The company is a consumer plastic manufacturer and it manufactures everything from kitchen appliances to plastic storage units, and of course, air purifiers.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to pinpoint where Iris Ohyama manufactures its air purifiers. The company is somewhat secretive when it comes to where its products are made. While it does have manufacturing facilities in Japan, it also has plants in China, The Netherlands, France, and more.
